CIPP (Cured-in-Place Pipe) is a widely used method of rehabilitating damaged laterals that requires little to no excavation, greatly reducing the cost, inconvenience and environmental impact of fixing a damaged underground pipe line. Instead of digging up your property to replace the pipe, it is relined using a flexible, resin-saturated felt liner installed into the existing pipe and then cured to a hard finish, essentially creating a new pipe within the old. The Bluelight CIPP system is on the cutting edge of pipe repair technology – it uses LED light to cure the liner up to 5x faster than other methods. Call: 503-624-1906 or Contact Our Team.

How It Works

BL_TEMPLATE

Preparation

The pipe is inspected with a camera and thoroughly cleaned to prepare it for lining. While lining materials typically have to be prepared onsite, BlueLight resin & liners can be prepared far in advance, shortening the timeline of a project & reducing disruption to the property owner’s services & routine.

BL_TEMPLATE2

Installation

The inside of the felt liner is saturated with resin and loaded into a pressurized tank set up at an access point to the pipe. Using air pressure, the liner is inverted into the pipe so that the felt side faces out and the resin contacts the inner surface of the pipe.

Curing with LED

Once the liner is in place, a light-head with 360-degree LED bulbs is fed through the liner, then slowly reeled back, fully curing the resin as it goes. A camera in the light-head allows the curing process to be monitored in real time. Service is then restored and the pipe will function like new!

5x Faster Than Other Methods

The newly redesigned Bluelight LED CIPP lining system for laterals and small drain pipes is the most advanced light-curing system available. The innovative technology empowers CIPP lining pros by alleviating the time pressures of other CIPP systems. The specially formulated resin only cures under light in the “blue” wavelength, giving installers a significantly longer working time between liner wet-out and curing. Once installed, the automated curing system pulls the LED light head through the liner, curing the resin almost instantly — up to five times faster than other methods. Instead of waiting hours for the liner to cure, a 50-foot sewer line could be fully cured in under 10 minutes. With more than 2 million feet installed worldwide, the Bluelight LED lining system is a proven solution for lateral rehab.

Frequently Asked Questions

Installing a new pipe typically involves extensive, costly excavation and may pose a risk to other buried utilities. Rehabilitation minimizes those concerns by utilizing existing pipe already in the ground.

Yes! Bluelight resin is free of harmful chemicals like styrenes and VOC’s. It is free of odor and does not pose any health risks to the installers, property owners, or surrounding environment.

Each project is unique, so total completion time will vary. Some contributing factors include the length of pipe being repaired, the pipe, diameter, and the amount of cleaning required prior to lining.

The cured liner will add at least 50 years of service to the pipe and will prevent future problems like blockages, debris build-up, root intrusion, tuberculation and corrosion.

The Bluelight system is automated so its computer software pulls back the light-head at the right speed to fully cure the liner. The integrated camera allows installers to monitor progress, so issues can be identified and addressed prior to initiating the curing process.
